BMW, the luxurious car company, has recently released their all-new 7-series. This said series, with it's outstanding added features, is sure to top it's past accomplishments in sales and positive feedback this year. The engine, a 445 hp V8, is capable of launching you forward and reaching 100km/h in a mere 4.3 seconds. The sedan has not only updated it's hardware, but also it's software! The computers onboard are capable of controlling many parts of the car such as the blinds on the windows, music, the radio, the lighting and the climate, all on the included 7inch tablet. Even on a smaller scale, the car's key can show you how much fuel is left, your range, etc. As for comfort, has BMW ever disappointed us? Needless to say, the authentic heated leather, the customizable ambiance lighting, the optional massage function, are all possibilities when it comes to comfort. To conclude, BMW never ceases to offer innovation, and their new 7-series is proof.

The most expensive car in the world

You might think that a 400 000$ Rolls-Royce is expensive for a simple car. Your perception of the mentioned price is going to change completely when you find out what the price of the 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO is. The sought-after collection car has been sold recently to an unidentified buyer for a staggering 52 000 000$! This particular car, called chassis #5111, is especially expensive since it has won the 1963 Tour de France race. The Ferrari had then been bought and restored only to be resold a long time after. The original GTOs featured a 3.0 liter V12 capable of producing 300 hp. These exclusive cars have been manufactured just to win races. Now, you must be wondering why such a simple and old car could be worth more than the most expensive house in your neighbourhood. The reason is that the Ferrari 250 GTO has been voted to be the car that represents Ferrari the best. Since the first of this car sold, prices have been going up at an alarming level. Even replicas of the car are reported to have been sold at the same price as a real one. This though, evidently, isn't supposed to happen.

The fastest car in the world

When you think about speed, the first car you might have in mind is the famous Bugatti Veyron. At approximately 269 mph, you are right about it not being slow. On the other hand, there's a car in the Veyron's territory. The american car company, Hennessey, have built the new fastest production car in the world: the Hennessey Venom GT. Although it beat the Bugatti by a mere 1 mph, stats are stats! Approximately 270 mph on a straight line! Its full estimated top speed is 278 mph, 0-60 mph (100 km/h) in only 2.7 seconds and all this thanks to a 1244 hp V8 powerhouse engine. Although the Venom beat the previous record-holder by 1 mph, the Veyron is still the champion in the Guinness book of World Records because there must be at least 30 cars in the market, and the top speed must be an average of the speeds achieved during 2 tries. Unfortunately, the Hennessey only had one run and only 29 of them are produced. Anyway, here is the video of the actual 270 mph run of the Venom!

Rumors of Ferrari LaFerrari Spyder and FXX

As you all probably know, the exotic Italian car company, Ferrari, have released a new version of the beloved Enzo, the LaFerrari, a while back. Although this car is very appreciated by fans, a track-only version of the supercar is still in demand. Rumor has it that a Spyder LaFerrari, along with an FXX version, could be expected in 2015. This could very well be good news for the race enthusiasts Ferrari must please. Even though the Spyder is yet to be spotted, the FXX prototype has been spotted doing high-speed laps on the Nurburgring. Lastly, just like the original Enzo, the LaFerrari Spyder and FXX will only be offered to Ferrari's top potential buyers, people that Ferrari believe to be respected enough to own such an exquisite automobile.

Lamborghini's New Powerhouses

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale

One of the latest machines out of Automobili Lamborghini's Factory is their so called ''limited edition'' 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale, another of the 570-4 series. The car has pretty much the same amount of horsepower as it's brothers, the Spyder Performante and Superleggera.

Lamborghini says it's the most extreme Gallardo ever, but surprisingly you can use it on the road. The car is based on the very successful Blackpain Super Trofeo (the enormous rear spoiler!), and was revealed on September 12, 2011 at IAA Frankfurt Auto Show. Available only in the historical ''Rosso Mars'' paint job, just 150 copies of this Lambo will be built.

Under the hood the supercar sports a V-10 engine, providing 561 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Coupled to it is a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox, providing an acceleration to 100 km/h in 3,4 seconds. In addition, the car packs the punch with a top speed of 320 km/h, just 5 km/h less than the Superleggera.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder

The guys over at Sant'Agata Bolognese have focused on a rear axle driving style and reworking the dynamics of the LP-550-2 Spyder, so that the convertible version of Valentino Balboni's supercar is just perfect.

A light electronic hard-top helps the LA Auto Show revealed car weigh an impressive 3,351 pounds. Due to this, acceleration to 100km/h is done in 4,2 seconds, while top speed is reached at 319 km/h.

Such great acceleration and speed achieved in a roofless car is thanks to a 550 horsepower V10 engine and a 6-speed gearbox, providing optimal performance.

2012 Ferrari Enzo Replacement spotted testing

The guys over at Carscoop have posted spy photos of what we think is the the 2012 Ferrari Enzo Replacement. It was spotted on Italy's Fiorano test track. But, it could also be the upcoming Ferrari 458 Scuderia; a sportier version of the standard 458 Italia. As the photos show, a heavily modified 458 Italia with an extremely low and long front nose is what the photographers shot. Also, the rear is extremely redesigned.

In recent interviews, Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa has stated that the Enzo replacement will be revealed by the end of 2012. The replacement for the Ferrari Enzo will be constructed of carbon fiber, powered by a mid-mounted V12 engine and will use hybrid technology. “For a small volume car such as the Enzo where the focus is on the minimum weight possible it is the correct solution.” The CEO also states that his newest cars “must focus on improving efficiency and not just be about performance”.

Ferrari's Newest Cars

Ferrari 458 Spider

One of the biggest news coming out of Maranello is the end-of-the-summer release of the Ferrari 458 Spider, the convertible version of the Ferrari 458 Italia, with a retractable hardtop.

It features a 4.5 liter naturally aspirated direct-injection V8. The power is transferred by a dual-clutch F1 paddle-shift transmisson. That engine produces 562 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. The 50kg extra weight slows down the 0-100km/h acceleration time by a tenth of a second, bringing it to a 3.4 second-level. The top speed drops 5 km/h; from 325km/h to 320km/h. Even thought the decrease in speed and acceleration, this car still is Ferrari's fastest convertible ever.

Due to it's retractable hardtop, the styling on the back of the car is much different, with 6 air inputs and buttresses. Ferrari wanted this car to have a ''sporty but not aggressive driving style''. This car will cost you about $258,000, while Ferrari plans to produce from 1500 to 2000 examples per year.

Ferrari 599 GTB HGTE 60F1

Ferrari has released this limited edition 599 GTB HGTE: their most powerful car of their entire range. It is the last car by the 599 GTB name, because it will be replaced at the Geneva Motor Show next year. This package is to commemorate 60 years of victories at Ferrari F1.

The HGTE offers reduced body roll for a stiffer ride, less understeer, easy control and sharper cornering. This special edition car comes in three different liveries:

375 F1 Livery: The same red as clothed Froilan Gonzalez’s 375 F1 is used. This is a historic red used by the Scuderia for its very first Formula 1 cars. Its darker pastel tone gives the car a compact and sporty look.

Ferrari 150° Italia Livery: this car has the Scuderia 2011 red livery used for Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari 150° Italia. The exterior also features Formula 1 white on the lower part of the front bumpers and mudguards, bonnet, A-posts and buttresses. The tricolour featured on the spoiler of the F150 is also represented on the rear.

Ferrari 150° Italia 2 Livery: the car is painted in the Scuderia 2011 red used on Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari 150° Italia. In this version, however, white is used only on the lower part of the bumpers and there is no tricolour at the rear.

Ferrari California HGTE Spyshots

Next February, Ferrari will unveil a package for their California to make it way more powerful. Autocar spy photographers have spotted it testing at Fiorano.

This package will bring many improvements, including a power increase of 28hp to 483hp and torque by 15lb-ft to 372lb-ft. It will also receive upgrades to the steering rack, making it 10 percent faster coupled with a 15 percent stiffer suspension setup. Finally, the HGTE should get a dark chrome trim for the grille and side air vents.

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Confirmed via US EPA Organization

Thanks to the USA's fueleconomy.gov, we now know for sure that there will be a roadster version of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, debuting as early as the beginning of next year.

Lamborghini has not officially confirmed the open-top model, but this is what we saw under 2012 Lamborghini models via the US EPA Organization: the Lamborghini Aventador Coupe and the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster.

The Aventador Roadster will get an EPA fuel-economy rating of 11/17 mpg (city/highway) or 13 mpg combined. It's suggested that a 6.5 liter V12 engine producing 690hp linked to a seven-speed gearbox will be under the hood.

We can expect to see the LP700-4 Roadster in Geneva in March 2012 or in Paris in September 2012.

2012 Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster

After tons of spyshots and rumours, Mercedes-Benz has officially and finally revealed the Roadster version of the SLS AMG.

A 6.3 liter V8 engine that produces 563bhp and 650Nm of torque powers the car and is coupled to a a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which helps the car to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 317km/h. The roadster features a three-ply soft top that can be raised or lowered in just eleven seconds at a maximum speed of 50km/h.

Ola Källenius, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, said:

Systematic lightweight construction, outstanding performance and a breathtaking design combined with sensuous open-air driving pleasure – the new SLS AMG Roadster perfectly embodies the AMG philosophy of German engineering and craftsmanship. The gullwing model has already thrilled sports car fans all over the world, and now the convertible version is bound to cause a sensation.

A more powerful 5.2 liter V10 FSI engine with an output of 560hp and 540Nm of torque, has been added to the car, while it's top speed is 317km/h and 100km/h is reached in 3.8 seconds.

Thanks to carbon fiber-reinforced polymer and glass fiber-reinforced polymer, the GT Spyder is 85kg lighter than the standard R8 Spyder, for a total weight 1,640kg. The lightweight fabric soft top goes up or down in 19 seconds and can be operated at speeds up to 50km/h.

Aventador Renderings Part 4: Aventador Polizia

Hey, wait! Remember two weeks ago when we posted a three-part segment of rendered Lamborghini Aventadors, well we are adding one more part to it, because this rendering deserves some attention.

As you might already know, a few Raging Bulls have been transformed into police cars in Italy. They are called Lamborghini Polizia. Anyway, the guys over at Milanno Artworks and CarreraDesign have worked together to create this Aventador Polizia.

Some additions are a defibrillator and refrigerated container for the transport of organs. LED technology police lights are hidden under the air intakes and on the dashboard.

Enjoy the photos!
