2011 Porsche 997 GT2 RS Official!

Porsche revealed this week the most powerful of their cars. What is it called; the 997 GT2 RS. And you may think that the car is pretty much similar to the GT3 RS, but both cars have quite the differences.

First of all, the car was spied, then preview photos were found on the Internet. But we now have the real specs and photos. The car features a 3.6 liter 6-cylinder boxer engine capable of producing 620 horsepower; the most a Porsche has ever been able to do. This engine is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox. The car has improved since the previous GT2 model. The German Automaker has increased the horsepower by 90hp and has reduced the kerb-weight by 70kg This means that the new 997 has a very good power to weight ratio of just 2.21kg. Porsche has set new tires on the car that measure 245/35 ZR 19 at the front and 325/30 ZR 19 at the rear. Other options like the Porsche Adaptive Suspension Management (PASM), anti-roll bars, specific engine mounts and recalibrated Porsche Stability Management (PSM) make this Porsche very fun to drive. Performance wise, the car has a capable top speed of 330km/h (205mph) and reaches 100km/h (62mph) in 3.4 seconds. The car goes around the Nordschleife racetrack in just 7 minutes and 18 seconds. Well, that's all today for the 997 GT2 RS. But we do have a few more things to tell you. The car will have a limited production of only 500 cars. The car will get to the USA by October of 2010 and will be selling for $245,000. While in Europe, we could expect it in September for a price of €190,000 at today's exchange rates. Finally, the 2011 Porsche 997 GT2 RS will make its world debut on August 25th 2010 at the Moscow Auto Show.
