Audi R8 GT Spyder

Remember a while ago when Audi released a GranTurismo version of the R8? Well, they recently gave the automotive world some specs on their Spyder version of the GT, which is limited to just 333 units and carries a base price of 207,800 Euro in Germany.

A more powerful 5.2 liter V10 FSI engine with an output of 560hp and 540Nm of torque, has been added to the car, while it's top speed is 317km/h and 100km/h is reached in 3.8 seconds.

Thanks to carbon fiber-reinforced polymer and glass fiber-reinforced polymer, the GT Spyder is 85kg lighter than the standard R8 Spyder, for a total weight 1,640kg. The lightweight fabric soft top goes up or down in 19 seconds and can be operated at speeds up to 50km/h.

Audi R8 Hyper Black Edition by Anderson Germany

Anderson Germany has stunned the tuning world again, with it's tuning kit for the Audi R8 V10. Their special name for it is the Hyper Black Edition.

The paint job is called Hyper Black, while carbon-coated 19 inch rims painted in body color with edging in Racing Orange style. Brake calipers are painted the same color. A carbon exterior package is also available, with parts like the front spoiler lip, rear spoiler, the rear diffuser and the mirror caps.

Matte black carbon fiber leather is combined with orange Alcantara on the seats, while a carbon fiber steering wheel in available in the interior. The carbon interior package also includes the handbrake handle, the radio visor, the ashtray, the handles of the seat adjustment, door panels, and the side panels of the center console and shifter surround.

The 5.2 liter engine's power was increased to 8,700rpm, 589hp and additional torque. 22kg of weight was saved in the production.

MTM presents Geneva with 777hp R8 V10

Hey guys, it's Ethan. I'm actually posting my first blog entry in a very long time. I have been extremely busy and am currently running another blog, so that has taken up a long of my schedule. But, back to the awesome world of cars.

MTM has recently revealed a new tuning program for the Audi R8 V10. Styling is at it's maximum, MTM having put in 700 hours of polishing and refurnishing from the old R8 they produced. They added carbon fiber, an adjustable rear spoiler and a front lip, to improve aerodynamics. The V10 now puts out 777hp, while torque is also up to 888Nm allowing a top speed of over 350km/h. 0-100km/h is expected in 3,0 seconds, 200km/h in 9,37 and 300km/h in just 19,42 seconds. This car is worth over € 400,000, and will be presented at next week's Geneva Auto-Show. Be careful, MTM are gonna rip that place apart with this stunning car!

Audi R8 V10 Green by Wheelsboutique

Wheelsboutique has put together a tuning kit for the Audi R8 V10, and guess what, it's green! Not many specs are known about this car but we do know that it has a new wheel kit and lowering kit by H&R. Also, the wheels are HRE CF43’s that measure 19×8.5 inch in the front and 19×11 inch in the back. These have a satin black center and carbon fiber barrels.

Audi R8 Valkyrie by SR Auto

SR Auto has put together their latest tuning package; this time called the Audi R8 Valkyrie. The car has been tuned to the maximum, while some tuning specs have also been seen in other kits from other tuners. Everything starts off with the R8's nice matte black paint finish on the exterior body. Also on the exterior, SR borrows carbon-fiber aero components from tuner PPI. A smoked front, side and tail lamps and a new set of 20-inch alloys complete the exterior detailing. For the interior, SR has set a carbon fiber trim as well as a mix of black leather and alcantara with contrasting red seams.

Audi A9 Hybrid Sports Sedan Concept by Daniel Garcia

Daniel Garcia from Spain has put together an Audi concept called the A9. The study has similarities with two BMWs; the 5-Series GT and the Vision Concept. The Audi is claimed to be in a ligue of it's own; easily beating out the whole sports sedan's; including the 5-Series GT, the Porsche Panamera and the Aston Martin Rapide. Technology wise, it is also the king. The car is said to be overstyled, in a good way, and takes some inspiration from Santiago Calatrava's buildings in Valencia, says the designer. The front wind-ceiling, is made of "as-yet undiscovered nanotechnology material" that can fix itself and be color/tint adjusted. Yes, it is indeed a car filled with technology and style! Photo of the Day: ABT Audi R8 Spyder

Today's photo of the day is a photo of the convertible version of the ABT Audi R8. The car was previously revealed at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, while it was revealed in a grey matte colour. But the car here is red, with new red rims. New adjustments are a rear spoiler and highly visible air intake vents on the bottom front of the drop-top supercar. Enjoy!

Audi RS7 ready for Paris

Audi has confirmed rumours that it will produce an RS7, with 580 horsepower. Specs are limited, while we only have two sketch photos. The car will be based on the A7, and will have a 5.2 liter V10 engine, probably from the R8 5.2. It will make it's world debut at this September's Paris Motor Show, and will start sales in early 2011. Other possible engines are a V6 and V8 petrol engines. Stay tuned for more!:)

Revealed: 2011 Audi R8 GT

Audi revealed just this week a lighter, faster, and more powerful version of the R8. It resembles the 5.2 FSI because it has the same 5.2 V10 engine, only producing a increased power of 560hp. In all, the car costs US$256,500 and is due somewhere around end 2010-2011. A specific 333 units will be produced, and we'll tell you why. This car is so exclusive because it has pure German Engineering; everything you want from an Audi. They have even reduced the weight by about 100kg, making it weigh a total of 1,525 kg Acceleration wise, it makes it to 100km/h from standstill in 3.6 seconds, and has a top speed of 320km/h (199mph). We won't keep you longer because we know that you guys are all eager to read Audi's official explanation;

"The windshield of the R8 GT is made of thinner glass; the bulkhead between the passenger cell and engine compartment, as well as the window in the rear hatch are made of strong, lightweight polycarbonate. These three modifications saved nine kilograms (19.84 lb). The fixed rear wing is good for an additional 1.2 kilograms (2.65 lb); thinner sheet metal and additional cutouts shaved 2.6 kilograms (5.73 lb) from the aluminum hatch over the 100 liter (3.53 cu ft) luggage compartment at the front of the car.

The long rear hatch is made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) – an advantage of 6.6 kilograms (14.55 lb). The rear bumper and the sideblades of this same material save an additional 5.2 and 1.5 kilograms (11.46 and 3.31 lb), respectively.

The engineers also fought to shave every possible gram of weight from the technical components of R8. They shaved one kilogram (2.20 lb) from the power brake system, four kilograms (8.82 lb) from the aluminum caps of the brake discs and 9.4 kilograms (20.72 lb) from the battery. The engineers also found 2.3 kilograms (5.07 lb) in the air intake module and 2.8 kilograms (6.17 lb) in the insulation of the engine compartment.

The interior also harbored substantial weight-savings potential. The new, lightweight carpeting accounts for 7.9 kilograms (17.42 lb); the bucket seats with a chassis of glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) account for 31.5 kilograms (69.45 lb). Numerous additional detailed measures targeted the interior, the exterior and the technology, such as higher-grade, lighter steel for the exhaust system's tailpipes."

2011 Audi A8 and A8L

The 2011 Audi A8 is a $90,000 4 wheel drive, 4 (or 5) passenger four-door sedan. The car beats out the BMW 7 Series and certain Mercedes-Benz models. It has a 4.2 liter V8 that is capable of besting it's predecessor by 22 horsepower. You can even write your destination with your finger on an integrated touchpad situated between the two front seats.

But, the German Automaker is not satisfied enough, that's why they have just finished building the A8 L. This one is basicly a better version of the A8, but there is more to it. The car features the very modern headlights that the A8 also has. These are not optional while there are other cool lighting features; the car has an optional GLASS roof! It features a 12 Cylinder engine, but all ther other engines available for the A8 will also be the other choices. The base engine though produces 500 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The A8 is also faster than the A8, reaching 100 km/h from standstill in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h. To minimize weight, the manufacturer has reduced the engine to only 247 kilograms and the whole body is made of aluminum using the Audi Space Frame (ASF). This means that it weighs 40 percent less. Using cell phone contracts, the driver can access Google to get news, weather updates, and even Google Earth!
