2012 Ferrari Enzo Replacement spotted testing

The guys over at Carscoop have posted spy photos of what we think is the the 2012 Ferrari Enzo Replacement. It was spotted on Italy's Fiorano test track. But, it could also be the upcoming Ferrari 458 Scuderia; a sportier version of the standard 458 Italia. As the photos show, a heavily modified 458 Italia with an extremely low and long front nose is what the photographers shot. Also, the rear is extremely redesigned.

In recent interviews, Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa has stated that the Enzo replacement will be revealed by the end of 2012. The replacement for the Ferrari Enzo will be constructed of carbon fiber, powered by a mid-mounted V12 engine and will use hybrid technology. “For a small volume car such as the Enzo where the focus is on the minimum weight possible it is the correct solution.” The CEO also states that his newest cars “must focus on improving efficiency and not just be about performance”.

Ferrari's Newest Cars

Ferrari 458 Spider

One of the biggest news coming out of Maranello is the end-of-the-summer release of the Ferrari 458 Spider, the convertible version of the Ferrari 458 Italia, with a retractable hardtop.

It features a 4.5 liter naturally aspirated direct-injection V8. The power is transferred by a dual-clutch F1 paddle-shift transmisson. That engine produces 562 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. The 50kg extra weight slows down the 0-100km/h acceleration time by a tenth of a second, bringing it to a 3.4 second-level. The top speed drops 5 km/h; from 325km/h to 320km/h. Even thought the decrease in speed and acceleration, this car still is Ferrari's fastest convertible ever.

Due to it's retractable hardtop, the styling on the back of the car is much different, with 6 air inputs and buttresses. Ferrari wanted this car to have a ''sporty but not aggressive driving style''. This car will cost you about $258,000, while Ferrari plans to produce from 1500 to 2000 examples per year.

Ferrari 599 GTB HGTE 60F1

Ferrari has released this limited edition 599 GTB HGTE: their most powerful car of their entire range. It is the last car by the 599 GTB name, because it will be replaced at the Geneva Motor Show next year. This package is to commemorate 60 years of victories at Ferrari F1.

The HGTE offers reduced body roll for a stiffer ride, less understeer, easy control and sharper cornering. This special edition car comes in three different liveries:

375 F1 Livery: The same red as clothed Froilan Gonzalez’s 375 F1 is used. This is a historic red used by the Scuderia for its very first Formula 1 cars. Its darker pastel tone gives the car a compact and sporty look.

Ferrari 150° Italia Livery: this car has the Scuderia 2011 red livery used for Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari 150° Italia. The exterior also features Formula 1 white on the lower part of the front bumpers and mudguards, bonnet, A-posts and buttresses. The tricolour featured on the spoiler of the F150 is also represented on the rear.

Ferrari 150° Italia 2 Livery: the car is painted in the Scuderia 2011 red used on Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari 150° Italia. In this version, however, white is used only on the lower part of the bumpers and there is no tricolour at the rear.

Ferrari California HGTE Spyshots

Next February, Ferrari will unveil a package for their California to make it way more powerful. Autocar spy photographers have spotted it testing at Fiorano.

This package will bring many improvements, including a power increase of 28hp to 483hp and torque by 15lb-ft to 372lb-ft. It will also receive upgrades to the steering rack, making it 10 percent faster coupled with a 15 percent stiffer suspension setup. Finally, the HGTE should get a dark chrome trim for the grille and side air vents.

Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster Spied!

Spies have already caught the drop-top version of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, but they have caught the highly anticipated supercar again. This time, they spotted it in Texas, USA; where they will probably test the new convertible.

The car was spied and there was obviously lots of differences. Some are no gullwing doors, ensuring chassis stiffness by reinforcements. But this will increase the body weight. The car will feature the same 6.3-liter V8 engine producing 571hp (420kW) and 650Nm of torque. The car will also have a 0-100km/h (62mph) acceleration of under 4 seconds while it will have a top speed access of 309km/h (192mph).

2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Previewing

Last month, as you might already know, Porsche sent out it's future 2011 911 GT2 RS testing. Well, their car got spied and now there is a whole controversy about this highly anticipated car. Well Porsche has set out some preview photos of their car, and their are pretty promising...

The RS will feature a modified version of the 911 GT2's twin-turbocharged flat-six producing a bit more than 600 horsepower. Like most modern German sportscars, one of Porsche main goals for this 911 is to save weight and reduce it from previous models. In fact, they will reduce the kerb weight by 100kg (about 220lbs). To complete the description, we finish with the interior; bucket sport seats and red Alcantara lining.

Chrysler's lineup is mostly trucks, while Dodge has just finished production with the Viper. Now, the 2011 Dodge Charger has been spied. As you might have guessed, the car will have a R/T version and a SRT8. The R/T version features a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 producing from 390 to 450 horsepower. 2011 Lamborghini Jota Spied in South Europe

The replacement for the Lamboghini Murcielago will be the Jota, you probably already know that. The car will come out as a 2011 model, but it has already been spotted twice. After being spotted in the Arctic Circle, this time, it was caught in Southern Europe.

The car shows that it will be lighter and lower than the Murcielago. What we saw from the spy shots is that the car will feature very exposed air intakes on the sides, aswell as aerodynamics improvements all over the car. Light-weight carbon fiber will be used and styling comes from the Estoque concept car.

The car could feature a V12 engine producing around 700 horsepower, and could be officially unveiled at this year's Paris Motor Show.

2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe Spied!

Today, in the streets of Munich, the 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe was spied (the cabrio version has already been spotted). Yes, 2012's M6 will be coming to production and will likely be competing against the Audi R8.

As we said, the car was spotted in Munich but will also be on the market for next year probably.

Unfortunately, the car has a lot of camouflage so it was hard to make out some parts of the design. Fortunately though, there were some obvious things we could see like the front air intake cap on the hood and several other adujustments similar to the one we just stated.

The Series is likely to feature the 7 Series' 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 402 horsepower. But, the M6 will get a more powerful engine producing 547 horsepower, coming from the X5M and X6M.

2011 BMW Alpina B5 Spied!

Alpina has pretty much had a version to all BMW's cars, and I could write them all down but it would take the page longer to load so I have decided not to.

The B7 Alpina will make it's debut at the New York Auto Show. But, the Alpina B5 has been spotted; a car that is based on the 2011 BMW 5-Series, codenamed the F10.

The 2011 BMW Alpina B5 will probably feature a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine capable of producing more than 500 horsepower. This engine will be related with a six-speed paddle-shift Alpina SWITCH-TRONIC automatic transmission gearbox.

James Bond Lotus Evora leaked

This past week there has been Geneva and all that but let's move on to something else.
One day this week, a skier was on a skiing vacation in the French Alps of Chamonix when she spotted people filming, a car. But it was not just any car, it was probably James Bond's Lotus Evora. Here is the skier's statement;
"I'm just on a skiing holiday now in Chamonix in the French Alps and have seen loads of commotion around a film set. I watched an action stunt scene being filmed with tons of crews and papparazzi swarming! I especially noticed a flashy new Lotus Evora being used in the filming. Is there any way that this could be for the new James Bond film?"
Anyway, to add to the mystery, the photos wee also leaked on another blog (http://chrisfecher.wordpress.com/2010/02/15/jumping-the-new-lotus/) and he said the same thing. Mysterious...
