2012 Shelby Mustang GTS Revealed

The New York Motor Show hosted the official release of the 2012 Shelby Mustang GTS. It is the successor of the 2007-2008 model.

A 3.7 liter V6 and a 5.0 liter V8 is available for engine options, but the power and torque output figures have not been released and will be announced at a later date. Top speed and acceleration times will also be unveiled in the upcoming weeks or months. Otherwise, the car has a Ford Racing handling pack, Borla exhaust system, Baer brakes, unique front fascia, Le Mans stripes and a deep-draw hood. Production for the GTS packaged kit is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2011, at a base price of $ 9,995.

The the resembles the previous Shelby car; nice blue colour and the famous white lines on the exteroir.

There is one change you can really see, the black rims that are fitted inside OZ alloy wheels (8.5 and 10×20) and Michelin high performance tyres (245/35ZR20 & 285/30ZR20).

The car features a 5.4liter supercharged engine producing 810PS of power and 945Nm of torque.

The top speed of the Shelby is really impressive, reaching 345km/h.

Yes BOSS! The BOSS racer is back with a version of the new 2011 5.0 Mustang GT! Anyway, it's called the 2011 Ford Mustang BOSS 302R and it is in honor of the 40th anniversary of Parnelli Jones’ 1970 Trans-Am championship in a Mustang BOSS 302 prepared by Bud Moore Engineering. The car is expected to race in races like Grand AM, SCCA and NASA classes. The very exclusive car will be priced at $79,000 and will be only produced 50 times! Like the base 5.0, it will feature the Coyote V8 that will be coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox.

First official 2011 Mustang GT photos leaked

Remember we posted stuff about the 2011 Mustang GT. Well, we now have the first official photos that were leaked earlier this week. There are 2 pics of the front of the car and one of the engine. Enjoy!

2011 Ford Mustang GT engine revealed

Inside Line's Twitter and Facebook page explain that the Ford Mustang GT will have a new engine for the 2011 model. Actually, the engine is called the Coyote, but it is a 32 valve 5 liter V8. The engine will produce 412 horsepower and 400 lb-ft (542Nm) of torque. It will compete against the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS’s 422 horsepower engine and the 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8’s 425 horsepower engine. The car with the new engine are supposed to make their debut at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

You all know Mustang right? What we have here is a Mustang debate between two really nice mustang tuners: Iacocca and Roush. We are sure you know about Roush, but Iacocca is good to. Well, Iacocca tuned up a Mustang, it is called the 2009 1/2 Iacocca 45th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang: very powerful, 550 horsepower, and was auctioned off in Vegas for 362 grand! On the other hand, we have the 2010 Roush 427R Mustang. The 2-door coupe has a V8 engine producing 435 horsepower, a little less than the 45th Anniversary Mustang. But you see, the Roush is a newer model Mustang, so it has the same design as the 2010 Mustang, which probably mkes you think that this on is better. Well, it is up to you to vote to determine which Ford Mustang is better.

You all know the Ford Mustang Shelby Gt500 right? Well, Ford has just unleashed a new cobra. It's the 2010 GT500. Now, as you might notice, there is one major difference on the front grille. Notice the cobra has change sides to the left? The reason that it changed is because Ford didn't want the badge to prevent air from getting to the Shelby cold-air intake! It's 5.4. liter V8 engine helps this Mustang reach 540 horsepower, which is a 40 horsepower improvement over the previous GT500. With it's 6-speed manual transmission gearbox helping, it can reach 100 km/h (60 mph) in just 4.3. seconds. it has a top speed of 249 km/h (155 mph) which is not extremely fast but suitable. For many reasons, I really like this new 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

Convertible Showdown

Now that it's summer time, it's convertible season. So I've decided to have a convertible showdown featuring the Corvette Z51, the Porsche Boxster S and the Ford Shelby GT500. The way I will do it is I will have 4 attempts to determine which car is the best in power, speed and beauty. So, let's start with power. The winner will have to have alot of horsepower. The Shelby has 540 horsepower, the 'Vette has 400 horsepower and the Porsche has 310 horsepower.

Here are the rankings:

2. Corvette Z51
3. Porsche Boxster S
   

Now, speed. the Shelby has a 0-60 mph acceleration of 4.3. seconds and a top speed of 155 mph, the Corvette has a 0-60 mph acceleration of 3.9. seconds and a top speed of 185 mph. Finally, the Porsche has a 0-60 mph acceleration of 4.1. seconds and a top speed of 180 mph.
