Chrysler's lineup is mostly trucks, while Dodge has just finished production with the Viper. Now, the 2011 Dodge Charger has been spied. The car was spied with heavy camouflage but we could make out that the car is majorly focused on aerodynamics; a large rear spoiler. As you might have guessed, the car will have a R/T version and a SRT8. The R/T version features a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 producing from 390 to 450 horsepower. Otherwise, the SRT8 version will feature a 6.1 liter HEMI V8 producing 425hp.
Dodge has announced that they will produce only 50 more versions of the legendary Viper, called the "Final Edition Vipers".
It consists of ACRs, Coupés and Roadsters. More specificly 20 Coupes, 18 Roadsters, and 12 ACRs. The cars will feature a 8.4 liter engine producing 600 horsepower. The cars will also get "Viper Final Edition" badges on the side; simply meaning you own one of the last Dodge Vipers there will ever be.
Remember we mentioned that Dodge would be producing many special edition Vipers to celebrate it's last year of production. Well, the latest revealed is this: the STR-10 ACR-X. One little note; this car is not street legal, so don't try to drive it on the road! Well, you won't be able to drive it on the track until the spring of 2010, when production will start. It will compete in races like the Viper Racing League, the Sports Car Club of America, and the National Auto Sport Association events. Overall, it combines It combines the street-legal Dodge Viper ACR and the safety equipment of championship-winning Viper Competition Coupe. Performance wise, the car features a 8.4-liter V10 engine producing 640 horsepower, a 40hp improvement. Plus+, we have a video!:
Dodge revealed yesterday three new models of the Viper, to represent it's final year of production. OK, so one of the Vipers revealed was the 2010 SRT10, that Dodge is adding some new colors; Toxic Orange Pearl Coat and Bright Silver Metallic Clear Coat. The car has also improved in high-speed acceleration and higher straightaway speeds. Both Roadster and Coupe models are limited to a total production of 500, while each car will be powered up by a 8.4 liter V10 producing 600 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. The car has a limited top speed of 325 km/h and 96 km/h comes under 4 seconds.
The other model revealed that is not a special edition version Viper is the 2010 SRT10 ACR, this is the one who made the famous Laguna Seca lap record last week. The car has numerous upgrades, includinga new short-throw shifter and a redesigned rear wing profile and end plates. The Viper also features a new fifth gear ratio result and a top speed increase of 4 mph, 184 mph (296 km/h).
Two special edition Vipers were revealed yesterday on the first day of the LA Show. Here they are:
First of is the 1:33 version. This model is to celebrate the Laguna Seca lap record. It features a unique two-tone Black Clear Coat / Red Clear Coat exterior color scheme which is the exact opposite of the original ACR model. Interior styling includes piano black console bezels with red gauge highlights complemented with red accent stitching in the seats. Only 33 cars will be produced.
Finally, we have the Vooodoo-Edition Viper ACR. Thsi one receives an all Black Clear Coat exterior with a Graphite Driver's Stripe outlined in red. Only 10 models will be produced.
GM has released that it's 2010 Dodge Viper ACR will be introduced at this year edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show, alongside many other awesome cars. The 2010 Viper ACR features a GM 8.4. liter V10 engine, producing 600 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. The car also reaches00 km/h in 4 seconds and has a top speed of 180 mph (296 km/h), a 4 mph improvement over the previous ACR model. The company plans to release several special edition models during the last year of the Viper including a Laguna Seca edition to commemorate the record lap. All in all, around 500 Vipers will be produced in 2010.
This past week, the 2010 Dodge Viper ACR broke the record lap time at the Laguna Seca race track. It's lap time was 1:33.915m which is about 1 second faster than the previous record holder, the Devon GTX (1.35.117). This is known territory for the Viper, because before the Devon GTX broke the lap record this past August, the Viper had the record. The funny thing is that the Laguna Seca lap recorder had recorded the wrong time: 1:33.944! Here is a video:
None of us would consider combining the looks and features from BMW and Dodge. It seems odd to us. At least until we saw this rendering by a Russian illustrator named Remio. This illustrator is very skilled and has managed to combine the BMW m1 Homage and the Dodge Challenger. While some rendered speculation can prove to be quite close to the mark when the subject goes into production, we’ll have to file this one squarely in the “never gonna happen” folder. It’s a pity too because it is a well designed car.
