German car tuner DMC have made a new kit for the Maserati GranTurismo. The kit turns the regular GranTurismo into an MC Stradale, while the official MC Stadale from Maserati is not even out yet! They have decided to call the kit the Grande Sovrano which in English is "Great Ruler". The very noticeable new front bumper has been added as well as a carbon fiber front splitter. The front hood has three air-vents, newly designed side skirts, a carbon fiber rear wing combined with a three-finned carbon fiber rear diffuser. Finally, they added a set of diamond-forged rims.
Performance wise, the tuner has added a water-cooler turbo-cooler beside an engine producing 600hp and 588Nm of torque. 100km/h is achieved in 4.5 seconds and a top speed is reached at 295km/h.
Maserati has decided to go economical and make their future cars hybrids. They are not the only ones. Many companies have previously done the same thing there are many hybrids coming.
Maserati's plan of attack to reduce fuel consomption and CO2 emmisions. We are still not sure when we will see Maserati's first hybrid or what it will be called. Here is the statement:
"Maserati needs to develop more fuel-efficient powetrains, and using Ferrari technology should speed the process."

This car was rumoured before it was unveiled that it wound go topless, but that was in August. And guess what? It is! The car is 9ff newest project and is based on Porsche's 997 Turbo. The re-stylised rear end pays homage to the Porsche 356/1500S Speedster of 1955. The Speed9 also features a Bi-Turbo 650 horsepower engine producing 890Nm of torque. All this power is achieved with the help of a sports air filter, a re-programmed ECU and a 9ff sports exhaust system including a sports catalytic converter, all coming through a Porsche tiptronic gearbox. The aerodynamic upgrades; front apron, side skirts and a rear apron are complementing the car's handling while the adjustable stabilisers on the front and rear axles, double springs and four aluminium spring plates help control the extra horsepower. The 9ff brake system provides the excellent stopping power.
Maserati revealed this week it's new Limited Edition GranTurismo MC SportLine for the Middle East and Italy. Only 12 MC SportLines will be produced in Modena. It will include upgraded suspension as well as Maserati's new Stability Programme (MSP) that will help the suspension. Maserati will release the limited edition in 12 different cities in the Middle East including Abu Dhabi. In Italy, a total of 7 costumers will have a chance to ride in the new GT. Exterior designing includes a new matte black rear wing and the car is finished with Matt Bianco Fuji paint.
OK, so, we have lots of car news again so we have decided, like a week ago, to put all the car info into one post! Genius! OK, so to start of, yesterday, info was revealed about the seconds Gold Rush Rally, called this year the gR2KX. The route goes from Seattle over Portland, San Francisco and Los Angelos to end in Las Vegas! Awesome! It will last from June 8th to 13th 2010.
Talking about racing, source provides the info that two days ago, Luca Montezemolo, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, which are F1 drivers for Ferrari. Anyway, during Ferrari’s World Finals in Valencia, they managed to drive a Ferrari California, by mistake, into the gravel around the track! That's just great, and embarrassing! To make in even more embarrassing, it was during the parade lap! They could not get the California out of the gravel, so they replaced it by a blue Ferrari California. The 458 Italia was also showing off during this occasion.
Maserati revealed also two days ago that it gave a price to the GranCabrio revealed this September in Frankfurt. The price will be £95,630 when it goes on sale next April. In the UK, the convertible can be pre-ordered now. The newest member to the Italian automaker features the same engine as the GranTurismo S, revealed in Geneva. The GranCabrio features the longest wheelbase of any convertible on the market and has a top speed limited to 175 mph.
Porsche revealed lately that it will have a special exhibit in their new museum to pay tribute to the legendary 911 Turbo. They will also pay tribute to the 911 by a new book and a dedicated photo album.
MCCHIP tuner has tuned the new Panamera. This upgrade provides a horsepower upgrade of 50 hp and a torque upgrade of 75Nm. The maximum output is now 550hp and 775Nm. 9×22 and 10,5×22 wheels from Caragraphic are also available in the kit. Tires are Continental labeled 265/30 R22 and 305/25 R22. Alternatively available are Dunlop Sport tires in size 265/30 R22 and 295/25 R22. Top speed was increased by 8km/h, achieving 311km/h. The total kit costs €1499.
You guys think that this is a total teaser right? Well, fortunately, you are wrong. This one is real. It is called the Kuba from Maserati. It was designed by Russian artist Andrey Trofimchuck and really looks like the 2002 concept from Dodge; the Razor. It's Maserati's newest SUV concept: the Kuba.
Maserati has revealed the new race version of the GranTurismo S; their first race car since the MC12! The car has just met FIA GT4 regulations. Having competitors like Aston's Vantage GT4, as well as Corvette's C6 and BMW's M3, the GranTurismo made it's competition debut at Spa in the final round of the 2009 GT4 Championship. Only 15 MC GT4s will be made and will be selling for $190,000. It features a 4.7. liter V8, and the Trofeo version will be featuring the same engine with 450 horsepower.
Another Pininfarina masterpiece: the 2010 Maserati GranCabrio. This convertible was revealed this past week in Frankfurt. The Maserati has 4.7. liter engine (from the GranTurismo S Auto) that produces 433 horsepower. It is expected to be in dealerships by next summer.
This year in Geneva, Maserati revealed it's latest version of the GranTurismo. It's called the S Automatic. And they have revealed the official photos. Here they are:
New rumors state that Maserati is working in creating a hard-top convertible. We do know that they are in the middle of developing a convertible version of the larger Grantors – but these new reports suggest that the car – that was caught on tape – is smaller then what was previously thought. The new model is supposedly going to be available only in the hard-top convertible form. If this is true then it’s safe to say it will come with a fast-action retractable roof that is lighter than the usual soft-top mechanism.
After several years of rumors, a convertible version of the Maserati GranTurismo has been spotted. Meet the Maserati GranTurismo Spyder. It will follow the Ferrari California's lead. It will have a 405 horsepower 4.2. liter V8 engine and will be revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show this September. An S version will be available with 433 horsepower.
As you see, Italian supercars have pretty much filled up the supercar locker-room. Well, another Italian supercar has emerged to sight : the Maserati GranTurismo. With it's top speed going up to 285 kph and it's 4.2 liter V8 engine, it can reach 60 mph in less 5.6 seconds. But in the car magazine called Road & Track, the GranTurismo was put face-to-face with the Jaguar XKR. Despite it's top speed at 250 kph, and it's 4.2 liter supercharged V8 engine, it could reach 60 mph in less than 4.9 seconds. Road & Track compaired these 2 car's stats and the Jaguar got slightly better marks. But the Maserati GranTurismo remains a supercar with it's great salon cars.
