Ferrari released this week that it would debut a drop-top version if the 599 GTB in August at the Pebble Beach concourse in California. Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo said that the vehicle is a roadster and that is will be sold in a limited series. It will follow it's prodecessor the 575 Superamerica. This means it may have a V12 engine, but will for sure have a metal-folding roof. Montezemolo also announced that a 458 Italia Scuderia is not in the plan books; “We have no intention to do Scuderia version of the 458 yet. It would be difficult to do it better.” He also had to say this about the 612 Scaglietti succesor; .” Regarding the upcoming 612 Scaglietti successor he stated; “We have always had clients for such a car and we want to maintain a V12 2 + 2. So we are thinking of something for the future.”
